We send you survey quotes and estimated survey dates from RICS regulated surveyors. You can then compare the quotes and book the surveyor you want. You won’t get inundated with phone calls and emails as your contact details are only sent to the firm of surveyors you choose to book, no one else.
Which Home Survey Do I Need?
There are two main types of home survey to choose from, the Level 2 Survey (previously known as a Home Buyer Report) and a Level 3 Survey (previously known as a Building Survey). Generally speaking, the type of property you are buying will dictate which survey you should choose.
Level 2 Survey
The Level 2 Survey is the most commonly requested survey. The survey is used for houses, bungalows and flats which are of standard construction and were built since approximately the 1940s. It is not suitable for properties which have been significantly altered or are in poor condition.

Level 3 Survey
Level 3 surveys can be used for any type of property, however they are generally used for properties built before the 1940’s, or properties which are particularly large, in a poor condition, have been significantly altered or are of non-traditional construction.

No, if you book a surveyor through the website it simply means you want to instruct that survey to do a survey for you. It is not binding on you or the surveyor. The surveyor will then contact you to formalise the arrangements.

We aim to provide three quotes, however there may be less.
It usually takes between 24-48 hours for the quotes to be emailed across.

The actual date the surveys could be undertaken is subject to change and will be dependent on numerous factors including those outside of the surveyor’s control. Should you appoint a surveyor to undertake a survey for you, you must contact the surveyor directly to confirm when the survey could be carried out.
